Supporting Causes to Make Muscatine Better

The employees at First National Bank of Muscatine are encouraged to give back to our community by volunteering at non-profit organizations around town. From mentoring area youth through programs like Junior Achievement and Big Brothers Big Sisters, to fundraising for local causes and serving on committees of local organizations, our team invests their time, talent, and money toward improving our community all year long.

Community Causes We Support

EverFi Financial Literacy

First National Bank is proud to sponsor the EverFi Financial Literacy program through the Muscatine High School senior economic course. This interactive, web-based program is a financial education course designed to empower students with the essential skills needed to make sound financial decisions.

“We believe EverFi will help students increase their knowledge about important financial concepts that will benefit them greatly as they graduate and begin making their own decisions about money,” said Scott Ingstad, President of First National Bank. “We’re also very excited to award one student who successfully completes the program at 100% with a $500 college scholarship."

First National Bank partnered with EverFi, Inc. to provide the program to local students at no cost to the school or the taxpayer.

On the Money

When students participate in school activities, they learn how to work as a team, and develop discipline and leadership skills, contributing to lifelong success. That’s why we donate to so many youth activities, including sponsoring the On the Money program at Muscatine High School. Since 1997, First National Bank has donated over $60,000 to recognize Muskie athletic achievement.

On the Money sponsors the following athletic programs:

  • Boys & Girls Swimming
  • Boys & Girls Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Baseball

United Way

First National Bank is proud to support the United Way of Muscatine, an organization that serves a vital role in enriching our community. Several of our team members serve on United Way committees and the board, and the bank makes substantial contributions to the Annual Giving Campaign each year. Here are some of the United Way funded agencies our employees have supported:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Day of Caring
  • Kids First Fund
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Thanksgiving in July

YPN’s Two Weeks of Love

Each year, First National Bank sponsors the Young Professional Network’s Two Weeks of Love Campaign, which includes Freezin’ for Food and Toy Time. Around Thanksgiving and Christmas, our employees donate non-perishable food and new toys to help those in need have a happier holiday. Our four locations serve as a convenient drop off center for the community to make donations as well.

Employee Fundraising Committee

A few years ago, a dedicated group of First National Bank employees formed the Employee Fundraising Committee to help raise money for local non-profit organizations. By organizing various bank events like jeans days, lunches, yard sales, and cookie walks, our generous employees have donated over $22,000 since 2013!
